Chai Granita
Ingredients
- 8 Tetley® Classic Blend Tea bags
- 1 1/2 quarts boiling water
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 3 teaspoons ground cardamom
- 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 cups evaporated milk
- 3 cups whipped cream
- Ground cinnamon for garnish
Directions
- In ceramic teapot or heatproof container, pour boiling water over tea bags.
- Add sugar and spices and stir well.
- Let steep 5 minutes, then add milk.
- Continue steeping until cooled to room temperature.
- Remove tea bags.
- Pour mixture into 9"x 13" baking pans.
- Freeze for 30 minutes and then break up partially frozen mixture with a fork.
- Return to freezer for another 30 minutes and break up again.
- Repeat process twice more.
- To serve, scrape off pieces with a fork into wide glasses.
- Top each service with 2 tablespoons whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon for garnish.
- Serves 12.
